my kids asked me what i would have been like if i lived in the 1960s, if i would have been in the kkk or been friends with blacks. those were there words. i admire their candor ... although i wasn't sure quite even how to approach the fact that they asked it in that way.
oh, and when they first asked the ?, it came out like this "ms. matthews, if you were the only white person in the world, how would you act?" i was like, huh?? it took us like 10 minutes to get to what the actual question was.
