on that note

a student showed me a note today that she wrote to her mom. she wanted me to call and read it to her mom (not my business, i told her). it was a two page note about why she wanted to be muslim not christian. quite a good piece of persuasive writing, although i was not persuaded (and hopefully her mom will not be either ...). i don't remember all of the reasons, but i remember thinking if i could *only* talk to her about this. SIGH.
